On February 4th, 2021 the American Philatelic Society held a live streamed award ceremony to announce the winners of their newly established Chatty Awards. We are extremely excited to announce that Conversations with Philatelists was awarded the Digital Philately award, via popular vote. This marks the podcast's second award win in the span of just two months, having won a Philatelic Traders' Society award for Creative Concept of the Year in December 2020.

The APS Chatty Awards are "designed to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary Stamp Chat presentations of 2020 that highlight the best the hobby has to offer."

Categories of the awards included Digital Philately, Connecting Philately with the Professional World, Stamps Teach Award, Creative Philately, Cultural Philately, Destination Philately, and Philatelic Storytelling.

Congratulations to all the award winners this year!

On Monday's episode of Conversations with Philatelists, Michael and Charles had the pleasure of speaking with Roy Betts, a second generations U.S. Postal Service Employee who is the Senior Public Relations Representative in Corporate Communications for the USPS.

Roy discusses his family history of working for the USPS, how his career track in journalism led to his current position, and some of the many responsibilities he has running PR for the USPS, such as managing the announcements for new issue stamps each year.
